Our History

After the successful operations of its sister company, GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC), the concept of building GNPD took flight. Deemed to be one of the country’s limited supercritical generator power plants, Unit 1 achieved financial closing in September 2, 2016, whereas Unit 2 achieved theirs in December 6, 2017. Construction of the first unit began in September 2016 in Sitio Dinginin, Alas-asin, Mariveles, Bataan.

GNPD has also won several competitive selections by distribution utilities which were conducted individually or as an aggregation group – serving as a testament to its competitive price offers.

Garnering a total of 1450 MW on its two units, GNPD is thelargest coal-fired power plant in the Philippines today, aiming to power the nation through sustainable and clean energy.

Our Culture

Empowering progress to energize the nation.

To realize our vision of becoming a world class energy provider empowering progress that impacts the quality of life, GNPD strongly commits to upholding Integrity, Synergy, Excellence, and Ownership, to provide the Filipinos clean, efficient, and affordable energy and allow them to widen their horizons.
