“He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything.”

Health is indeed paramount to all, but this Arabian proverb encapsulates it best. Last September 13, 2023, GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) launched another successful endeavor in supporting quality health access for the community nearby to our business – the first Medical Consultation at Sitio Dinginin – a joint effort between the Community Relations and Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Departments of GNPD.

The team provided 200 hygiene kits and medicines to the residents, as well as free medical consultation through GNPD’s company physician. The Environment Team also took the time to conduct an Information, Education, and Communication session for health & hygiene.

Spearheading the program is GNPD’s AVP for Community Relations, Arcel Madrid, who further highlighted the company’s commitment and mission to help the nearby community of Sitio Dinginin and its residents.

“We at GNPD recognize this as one of our utmost priorities in our company. Together with SHE, we ensure that each member of our growing family stays safe while at work, and through this Medical Consultation, we are extending this commitment to the community,” he remarked.

Moreover, he assured that this is only the beginning of GNPD’s many endeavors to help enrich the lives of the residents, as they have more programs planned for Sitio Dinginin. He added, “We strongly believe that we are one with the community: they need our support just as much as we need theirs.”

This effort was also recognized by Sitio Dinginin’s midwife, Lorna Mariano, who expressed her gratitude. “Nagpapasalamat po kami sa GNPD para sa pagkakataon na ito na makatulong sa mga tiga-Sitio Dinginin,” she said. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and wellness. “Kagaya po ng lagi nating naririnig: health is wealth,” she concluded.

This effort to reach out to the community aligns with the letter S under the P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. Roadmap: Safeguard quality health access. Under this program, the Community Relations team assesses the community and monitors the residents. According to their most current assessment, there are children with coughs, colds, and skin diseases, as well as older adults who require more medical attention and upkeep. This has compelled them to undertake this project to help meet these demands.

Through the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) P-R-O-G-R-E-S-S, GNPD co-creates positive change, shared value, and sustainable social and environmental development – to ultimately define energy for progress.
