GNPD Materials Handling have already unloaded 40 coal shipments from January to June 2023 and despite of the challenges encountered, all the coal shipments received for this year were all despatched. GNPD encountered various equipment issues and the coal dome capacity was significantly reduced since January due to the issues of the Reclaimer 1 however, with the collaborated efforts of Fuels Team, Maintenance Team, TSD and Operations Team, all demurrage related risks were successfully managed. Likewise, the MH Team high regards to Synergy and painstaking contribution of the Ship Unloader Operators are of great value to this notable record.
As shown by the graph above, the actual unloading days represented by the white line stays below the orange line target unloading days which indicates no demurrage incurred. Accordingly, the yellow bar above the zero or red line indicates that coal shipment was despatched. In opposite, demurrage if the yellow bar falls below the red line which was none on the graph. Despatched coal shipments means that the vessel owner will pay incentive to GNPD for the reduced days of coal unloading while the demurrage means GNPD will be charged by the vessel owner with additional cost for extending the coal unloading beyond the target unloading days.
